Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) required May 2009
In May of 2009 the U.S.P.S. is replacing the planet and postnet barcodes with the Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB). The IMB uniquely identifies individual pieces of mail. The IMB will provide tracking, address change services, and the IMB will improve postal delivery. In March of 2008, Comtech DPM implemented the IMB even though the U.S.P.S. is not requiring the IMB until May of 2009. Call for more details how your mail can be tracked.

Do Dogs Really Hate Mail Carriers?
There are several ideas about why dogs go crazy when the mail carrier comes. Some people think it’s because it’s a reinforced behavior: Each day, the mail carrier comes, the dog barks and the mail carrier goes away. In the dog’s mind, barking is working. Another thought is that the mailman leaves items that have his scent on them. In the dog’s world that means the mail carrier is marking his territory, so the dog feels that he has to do something about it!
